We are now offering PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) in the Gold Coast. It is also known as the ‘vampire facial’ this treatment is used for both skin rejuvenation and hair rejuvenation. It involves taking a small sample of blood from the patient and injecting the platelets from this blood back into the skin. This initiates a stem cell response, causing damaged skin to repair and regenerate. This in turn helps to slow and reverse the signs of aging, creating healthy, younger looking skin.

What does the treatment involve?

Our registered nurse will take a small sample of blood from your arm. This blood is then put into a machine called a centrifuge to spin and separate the platelet rich plasma (liquid gold) from the red blood cells. Whilst this is happening there will be a topical numbing gel applied to the area being treated. The PRP is then injected into the skin using a small needle

Does it hurt?

We use a medical grade topical numbing gel to make the treatment as comfortable as possible. Patients may experience a tingling/ buzzing feeling in the treated area, this is completely normal. When the platelets are injected and come into contact with collagen they are ‘activated’ and start to release their regenerative growth factors, this is what the patients can feel. 

How often should I have PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)?
